Feed my Sheep

My dear sisters, Yesterday I cried. Perhaps it was the funeral that was still fresh in my mind or perhaps it was just that I was attempting to know my Savior better and He, through the Holy Ghost, taught me more because I asked of it. In the scriptures, Peter was asked "Lovest thou me?" three times. Aside pondered the phrase I suddenly realized why. Three times the Savior could of been saved or the Apostle could of sealed his testimony early by saying the very thing he had come to know. Said he, "Thou art the Christ". He knew and when his deer friend was at his weakest state, he, Peter, turned his back. So when the Savior, the resurrected Lord asked him, his friend, that question I imagined it went like this... "Lovest thou me?" Peter is startled by the question but looks into the Masters eyes and says, "Yes, Lord thou knowest I love thee." He says it almost nonchalant like he aims to go back to something. Then the Lord says, "feed my sheep...

A imperfect answer

My dear Sister.  Here is my imperfect answer to your question about imperfect people teaching a perfect message.  Let's put the future of the Church in the hands of nineteen year olds because they are teachable and they take risks that men and women my age would never embark. You are in the foragers fire. You are tried over and over like the metal of the foragers. Times are hot, cold, pounding, drowning. My dear Sister when you are being forged the outcome sometimes cannot be seen but the Lord knows the end from the beginning. You may have said as you did before, I dont speak and as to my speach I am slow as Moses said. There is always an answer to your question if you are willing to dig deep. Now the answer may open more questions but you will see answers that will move you to a perfection that is uniquely yours. Every time I write you I get more revelation and have to write it down.  Sister Bingham, you are an inspiration. You have followed the Spirit and taught me to d...

Missionary lost

My beloved Sister,  I write you an the morning of the passing of a great missionary, Alaire Johnson. As I read your wonderful email, I reflected on the example and legacy she left. She taught us so much and was such a part of our lives, it's hard to believe she is with the Savior now. She taught us as D&C 93 teaches us "line upon line" as the Master learned. Truly the missionary will be missed.  I am so glad that you got t meet an Apostle. I too met two Apostles on my mission (Holand and Parry). They are amazing. I am so glad that you head their council as they are truly blessed disciples.  I apologize for struggling to say more as I am at a loss for words. Know that we love you and pray for you.  Gott sei mit dir, bis wir uns wiedersehen.  Liebe  Onkel Nate

Scriptures are timeless

My dear Sister, First, it is always good to hear from you. Secondly, I have been studying the Doctorine and Covenants and it is the same. The words of the prophets are timeless. For example... 3 Therefore, he giveth this promise unto you, with an immutable covenant that they shall be fulfilled; and all things wherewith you have been afflicted shall work together for your good, and to my name’s glory, saith the Lord. D&C 98:3 Missions can be hard as life is at times hard. The test is supposed to be challenging so that you can always remember this test is open book (scriptures) and open master teacher (the Savior) and while those resources might ask you to still figure it out, it's easier to find a resolution.  Remember,  we pray for you daily. Be mindful of your surroundings and look for opportunities to serve others. Cousin Nate
