Small and Simple

Cousin,

Alma 37:6-7 caused me to marvel. I weighed on the verses for a while. For reference, I will reprint it...

6 Now ye may suppose that this is foolishness in me; but behold I say unto you, that by small and simple things are great things brought to pass; and small means in many instances doth confound the wise.

7 And the Lord God doth work by means to bring about his great and eternal purpose, and by very small means the Lord doth confound the wise and bringeth about the salvation of many souls.

The term "small" was repeated over and over and I thought like a traveled course there are tiny corrections that mean a ton! I have learned small repentance or small choices mean a ton. Listening to the Spirit in small ways and showing obedience day by day, learning line by line it seems that Alma (an Old Testament prophet) understood an eternal principle and I loved that he shared it. God loves us. I am eternally grateful for the Book of Mormon. Share it daily. Remember we love you and pray for your success.

I love you! Jesus loves you! Happy Easter!

-Saturday Robert got baptized. Oh, we just love him! We are so excited for him to continue on the covenant path. On Easter, Robert was confirmed and he received one of the sweetest blessings that were so specific to his needs by a man who didn't know him very well. It was such a confirmation to me that God truly knows each one of us. Surely, "[our] Father knoweth what things [we] need before [we] ask him." (3 Nephi 13:8)

-Easter dinner was with the cutest family! The Engels told us hilarious stories about their Aunt Betty. She was quite caught, but what hoot she was too! We all agreed on the conclusion that there is at least one aunt Betty in every family. (2 in mine 😉)

- Friday at Zone Conference I was reminded of how important it was that we have the spirit in ALL things. Truly, "if ye have not the spirit, ye shall not teach." (Please note. The scripture doesn't say you shouldn't teach, it says you won't teach. That is a serious distinction.) Disciples of Christ need the spirit.
Speaking of the spirit. Here is one example of how we were able to be guided to where God wanted us to be because we followed it.
Friday night we were driving back from a member meal and we felt we needed to stop by and knock on some member's doors. Usually, when we do this, no one is home and no one answers. But that night, when we knocked on one single door, Krista was home and just so happened to be available. God's hand is in our work if we let him use us as His instruments.

How can you be God's instrument this week?

👆 As you think about that, I invite you to read these scriptures. They are very insightful. Mosiah 8:18, Alma 37:6-7.

Let me know how it goes!

Love yous!

Also, I just want to share that I know God is good. I know Jesus Christ is our Savior. The church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is His church. He lives! And I know that because He lives, we can hope for a better world and we can change because of His sacrifice and His grace, in the name of Jesus Christ, amen!
