To whom it may concern,

🤸‍♀️ Updates 🤹‍♀️

-I had lunch with my family on Monday! My Aunt Lillian, Uncle Rob, and their kids.
-I had Follow up Zone Conference on Wednesday and got such a spiritual hype! 
-On Thursday we had an awesome lesson on Zoom with a friend Sister Bybee met on Facebook. Miracles! 
-Also, on Thursday, we drew on the sidewalk with chalk at the park. 🎨
-Cleaned the church building by ourselves on Saturday 


🫨 Spiritual thought ✌️

The following is from a BYU speech by Brad Wilcox, and I have bolded my favorite parts of this speech throughout it:

“Jesus doesn’t make up the difference. Jesus makes all the difference. Grace is not about filling gaps. It is about filling us.........
.....You have plenty to do, but it is not to fill that gap. We will all be resurrected. We will all go back to God’s presence. What is left to be determined by our obedience is what kind of body we plan on being resurrected with and how comfortable we plan to be in God’s presence and how long we plan to stay there....
.......CHRIST'S ARRANGEMENT WITH US IS SIMILAR TO A MOM PROVIDING MUSIC LESSONS FOR HER CHILD. Mom pays the piano teacher......Because Mom pays the debt in full, she can turn to her child and ask for something. What is it? Practice! Does the child’s practice pay the piano teacher? No. Does the child’s practice repay Mom for paying the piano teacher? No. Practicing is how the child shows appreciation for Mom’s incredible gift. It is how he takes advantage of the amazing opportunity Mom is giving him to live his life at a higher level. Mom’s joy is found not in getting repaid but in seeing her gift used—seeing her child improve. And so she continues to call for practice, practice, practice..........In the same way, because Jesus has paid justice, He can now turn to us and say, “Follow me”, “Keep my commandments". If we see His requirements as being way too much to ask (“Gosh! None of the other Christians have to pay tithing! None of the other Christians have to go on missions, serve in callings, and do temple work!”), maybe it is because we do not yet see through Christ’s eyes. We have not yet comprehended what He is trying to make of us.......
......."NO, WE ARE NOT EARNING HEAVEN. WE ARE LEARNING HEAVEN. We are preparing for it (see D&C 78:7). We are practicing for it.”
They ask me, “Have you been saved by grace?”
I answer, “Yes. Absolutely, totally, completely, thankfully—yes!”
Then I ask them a question that perhaps they have not fully considered: "HAVE YOU BEEN CHANGED BY GRACE?” They are so excited about being saved that maybe they are not thinking enough about what comes next. They are so happy the debt is paid that they may not have considered why the debt existed in the first place.......
.......HEAVEN WILL NOT BE HEAVEN FOR THOSE WHO HAVE NOT CHOSEN TO BE HEAVENLY......
.......Grace is not the absence of God’s high expectations. Grace is the presence of God’s power......"

I know that God loves me, I know he knows me personally. I know that there is a life after death and I can have eternal happiness. I am so grateful for the atonement. For it is because of it I can be perfected from my imperfections and have eternal life. His grace is sufficient. I say that in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.

Ah, Packer Town, home of the cheese heads. So many stories. It is difficult moving from field to field (or it was for me) but He does it for the benefit of His purposes. Might I recommend on a prep day trying the cheese and talking to the locals?  You are so far ahead spiritually than I was when I was your age. When you teach repentance, teach the people, it is not feeling guilty, it is not the sad countenance, sackcloth, or ashes that pleases God. My dear cousin, It's in the plain and simple things (like bunnies) that joy and truth can and will be found. Look for those things in your mission. Being a primary teacher has taught me so much and has brought to light so much of my mission and what it means to me. The message that you are teaching will strengthen your testimony. Do not ever be afraid to open your mouth. Your Heavenly Father will teach you and lead you to hearts that are open and searching for Him and the Savior. Every experience will lead you to where you need to be.  I aim to write you regularly so as to encourage you, cousin. Thrust in your sickle with all your heart, might, mind and strength. Money I have none

Dear Cousin,  Your going about the Gospel rightly. When I was a young nineteen year old, my companion and I had a dry spell. Earnestly we worked and daily we were rejected. It was one such day that got a call and it was during lunch. I was eager to eat but my companion told me to hold that thought. He ordered me to get on our bikes and follow him. I thought it was so peculiar that we would forgo lunch for a phone call.  We arrived to a shack of a place that had a dead lawn and old paint and with eagerness knocked on the door. A man with a dirty undershirt and jeans greeted us with a loaded .38 at his side. The expression of joy escaped his face as he asked us to enter. He would explain that he had lost his job, kids and wife and was going to loose his home. The gun was for him to end it all if we had not shown.
