The great prosecutor
Elders,
In Hebrew, Satan means Prosecutor, the one who brings us to judgment. How fitting for the one who brings things to light (Lucifer means light-bringer) to also be the one to tell on us to the Father of how we are naked before Him so that we can be punished for the transgressions and sins he suggested.
Ok, that was a bit dark. My apologies. Let's talk about something else.
The Gospel is like a car. Hear me out. Let us suppose that the Gospel has always been with us for thousands of years only to be destroyed by the cunning of Satan. This "car" had an engine of working saints who worked in a messy unison for the betterment of the children of God. It had fuel and oiled parts that were provided by the Savior's Atonement. It had the power of the priesthood to move from heart to heart, blessing and edifying each person it touched. Slowly, it was destroyed and classified so that it could not move and the Blood of the Lamb no longer flowed through it.
Elders, you are part of the restoration. That "car" that moved the world is moving the world again and you are a big part of it. There's a framework, priesthood power, covenants, revelation, and scripture. What a glorious time to be alive. The Savior's Atonement is vibrant and the saints are full of valor and vigor. When you pray I hope you realize how close you are to a... correction from your Father in Heaven. He hears your prayers because you do it in the name of the Redeemer. The Redeemer is not chasing you or tricking you but is your Advocate to the Creator of all things.
I hope, that though Satan is frustrating, he has not caused you fear or doubt. I would assume that if it were a saying, it would be that life isn't easy because it is worth it, not despite it. The work you are doing is moving a mountain of disbelief, anarchy, and lies. You are changing lives one day, one life, at a time. Also, know that thousands pray for you, including myself. You guys are great because your message is great. Be light-bringers too but for the right reason. Bring people to redemption not prosecution. Pray with full purpose of heart and remember that we sometimes don't know why we are doing things but it can be turned from something messy to something beautiful. Seeds are not beautiful in the messy dirt but the flowers that come from them are.
Again, be forgiving and kind.
Nathan Bingham
